![]() ![]() The guilt is tearing his very sanity apart. He saw things no man should have to during his time on the spaceship USG Ishimura, but it's the fact that Isaac's girlfriend died on the vessel after he encouraged her to work there that really haunts him. Unlike Uncharted's Nathan Drake who can kill a few hundred pirates and never seem worn down by it, Isaac is totally ruined by the events of the original Dead Space. The overarching goal is to find and destroy the religious idol (known as the Marker) causing all of this, but the story that makes Dead Space 2 great is the internal war Isaac's fighting. As Isaac, you'll pick up your plasma cutter, don an engineering suit and take the fight to the beasts out to kill you. The first one seemed like everything was in shades of grey. This is where you come in. However, because of this, the second one feels like it has much more variety as far as the environments, and it seems to be more colorful. The second one feels more open as there are many more big open rooms and halls which don't feel as tight spatially. The first one felt much more claustrophobic due to it being in a ship and having so much backtracking. Also, while I still think it's a great game, I don't think it's nearly as scary as the first one. My inventory slots have been completely filled since chapter 2, which hardly ever happened in the first one. It also seems like there's a lot more ammo to be found. While I've noticed that there are more enemies in each wave in Dead Space 2, I feel like I'm finding a lot more power nodes and have been able to upgrade my Plasma cutter much faster making it much more effective. I haven't died once since I started playing Dead Space 2, and it hasn't taken me more than 1 1/2 hours to finish a single chapter yet. Does anyone else think Dead Space 2 is a lot easier than Dead Space 1? Granted I'm only on the 5th Chapter, but when I was playing the first one, I couldn't get through a single chapter without dying multiple times, and it took me a good 2-3 hours to complete each chapter. ![]()
